Meet the Artist Behind the Music

Explore Tony’s journey as an artist and his dedication to blending
musical styles that resonate with
discerning audiences.

Tony Partington knew, at a very early age, he had to sing. Born into a theatrical family, the tenor spent his early life in New York City and New Jersey then, eventually, Minneapolis. With a carer spanning four decaces Tony has appeared in opera, concerts and musical
theatre throughout the East Coast and Midwest.

Tony says, "I love the theatre, I grew up in it! I enjoy greatly working as an actor, but
music is my heart and soul." The tenor recalls the day a radio broadcast changed his life: "My mother was listening to the Met broadcast, as she did every Saturday, and instead of the opera broadcast the radio station was playing Mario Lanza's recording of Romberg's THE STUDENT PRINCE. I was 13 years old and I heard this
incredible voice and I was stopped! The sound of that magnificent glorious voice affected me like no other. It was then I knew I had to sing."

"For me, the voice of
Mario Lanza was the
greatest
musical
influence in my life."

Seven years later Tony was living in New York and studying voice with the man who had coached and conducted Mario Lanza in that life changing recording, Maestro Constantine Callinicos. "It was a dream come true. I never imagined I would be fortunate enough to study with a legendary artist like Maestro Callinicos."

Opera, musical theatre and concert engagements followed but Tony felt there was something missing, “I felt like there was still much more voice inside me.” Then followed several years of study with the acclaimed singer and voice teacher Maestro Wayne Conner (of the Curtis Institute). “Wayne was also a tenor and that’s what I needed to truly find my voice.”

"I love all types of music; Opera, Popular, Latin, Jazz, Classic Rock and Oldies. I vary my repertoire to include something for everyone. My goal is to have the audience feel as though they are
hearing these songs for the first time."
