Thank you so very much for stopping by, and for your interest.
It has been almost four years since the "original line-up" (Frank, Dave, Kristi, Monte & Tony) of THE RECOLLECTIONS shared the stage. Also over two years since THE RECOLLECTIONS "reboot" (Dave, Kristi, Carol, Randy & Tony) performed. I do miss it! A Lot!!! The pandemic stopped us all in our tracks. We didn't see it coming.
Much has happened, for all of us, since then. I would venture to guess that it is impossible, for anyone in this world really, to say that they have not been affected (and effected) by COVID in some way or another. As the Performing Arts finally start re-opening their doors many new protocols, vaccine requirements, etc. are being put in place, worldwide! This is very, very good. This is a good thing. This is our new "Brave New World" to contemplate, confront, navigate, cherish, embrace and live in with love.
Since the pandemic I have had time to think through some recording projects which have been in my mind - and in the works - for some time. The first is an album of Italian Art Songs. I have had a great desire, for the last two or three years, to return to my classical vocal roots and revisit music which I sang more than forty years ago. I remember falling in love with many of the selections in Schirmer's "Twenty-Four Italian Songs & Arias." It is very interesting to look at them again, after several years, and discover new perspective, new insight. So many are old friends. And yes, I would say much of that new perspective and insight is a result of age.
The second project that I have been working on, for a while now, is a Standards record. Standards from all over the musical gamut: Jazz, Broadway, Folk, Pop and International. And, I wouldn't be a good business person if I did not point out that you may purchase (for download) both current albums, A Man Without Love and Cara Mia. You can also download individual songs. Such as the duet Kristi and I did recently of the beautiful Noel Paul Stookey song "There Is Love" (The Wedding Song). So please, have a listen and thanks!
So, stay tuned. We will keep you updated as things develop. Thanks again for taking time to stop by. Stay well, stay safe, stay healthy, stay kind.
Ciao! - Tony (Florida, June 2022)
